TSR Govt. completes it’s 100 days in Uttarakhand .

Dehradun. Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat took charge of Chief Minister of the Uttrakhand on 18th March 2017. It is the first time after the creation of the State, any political party has got such a huge majority in assembly elections. Expectations of the people of state must have raised to new heights after such a huge victory in assembly elections. For making a solid roadmap to fulfill the expectations of people and development of, Trivendra government has taken many important decisions. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra completing his 100 days in office on 25th June, 2017. Although it is not fair to derive on conclusions for such a short span in office, one can still find the glimpse of working and future course of government.
Chief Minister Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat is very simple, down to earth and elegant person. Immediately after assumption of the office Shri Trivendra gave clear directions to the officers that roads, electricity, water, health and education were the top most priorities of Government. Basic infrastructure facilities have significant contribution in the development of any State. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra took steps in this direction. Central Government fully cooperated in this regard. As resulted, project has been started to connect important places with rail services. Firstly, Rishikesh to Karanparyag railway line has been extended to Badrinath due to efforts of State Government. A direct rail line between Mujjafarnager –Devband is going to complete soon. Benefits of Delhi to Joshimath direct rail service will be available not only to the people of the State but also to the pilgrims from across the nation and world. This rail project will be mile stone in the development of Uttarakhand. Central Government has decided to open regional office of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in Dehradun to give employment oriented training to local youth and boost their employment opportunities. This is the first time when regional office of this ministry will be opened out of Delhi.
Chief Minister Shri Trivendra has also took one more important initiative approving the Rs 250 crore apart from the regular budget to the PWD, Jal Sansthan, Irrigation, Rural Engineering Departments. Motive of providing extra budget to these departments is that ongoing work should not be interrupted due to lack of budget in case of small projects. Public Work Department has been directed that bridges and roads to be constructed with this additional budget while Jal Sansthan and Drinking Water Department have been directed to construct big multipurpose water bodies in District Pauri, Pithoragarh, Almora, Dehradun, Nainital. Drinking Water and Irrigation problems in these regions will be resolved through these efforts.
Health facilities are among the top most priorities of State Government. First time after the creationof State, a strong decision has been taken to transfer the doctors to hilly regions who are working in plain regions since years. Government is going to start recruitment procedure for the post of 200 doctors soon. Medical Selection Board is working in this regard. Reacting positively to the proposal of state government Army has agreed in principle to take over Shrinagar Medical College.
State Government has decided that small loan upto one lac will be provided to small and marginal farmers at the interest rate as low as 2 percent. State Government has resolved to increase the income of farmers. Farmers can go for their small start ups like Floriculture, food processing, horticulture, vegetable production under this scheme. In an ambitious but achievable resolve , Chief Minister Shri Rawat directed the officials to provide houses to all by 2021. Also , it has been resolved that Electricity will be available to every village by 2017, to every “tok” by 2018, to every house by 2019. State Government has aim to provide gas connection to those BPL families which could not get benefit of Ujjawala scheme.
Central Government has in principle approved the loan of Rs 819.20 crore from ADB for the development of power sector of State. New substations will be set up along with new transmission lines in the State. Capacity will be increased for old sub stations. This fund will be mile stone in the energy development sector. Power projects of 173.5 MW will be completed timely. Ring road will be available in Dehradun, Haldwani and Haridwar. Long awaited Kandi road will be opened for the connectivity of Garhwal and Kumaun. Government of India has approved to make 22 roads to national highway.
Given the interest of the state, the state government has made another important decision, under which the work up to Rs.5 crore will be given to the residents of the state. This will provide employment opportunities at the local level. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra has summoned the report of departmental vacancies so that government can go for comprehensive recruitment process providing employment opportunities. At present, it has been decided to start recruitment process on almost 1,000 vacant posts of Patwaris. Along with this, recruitment process will also be started soon in vacant posts of other departments. Higher Education Selection Commission has been set up to recruit teachers for vacant posts in higher education. In the Animal Husbandry Department, recruitment process will be done for 100 posts. The post of livestock officer and veterinary doctors are included in these posts. Full transparency will be followed in recruitment procedures.
The state government has a clear view that corruption will not be tolerated at any cost in the state. NH-74 compensation matter is an example for this. The CM Shri Trivendra recommended this case to the CBI by following the policy of zero tolerance against corruption. Simultaneously SIT is doing work in this matter. More than 200 files have been seized in SIT’s investigation. 6 officials have been suspended, while 2 have been arrested. The State Government has taken another step in this direction, in which, the controversial UP State Construction Corporation has been banned for construction work in the state. Now only, the state governments own construction agencies will work.
Since the formation of the state, no concrete action has been taken in allocation of pending assets between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand government. But Chief Minister Shri Trivendra has been taking keen interest in this matter and directed his officials to take necessary steps. The result is that a positive dialogue has been going on between Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. It should be expected that the matter related to settlement of assets will be resolved soon.
Chief Minister Shri Trivendra has started work with far-reaching thinking and vision with serious efforts to establish a new foundation for the development of the state. Also CM has started ensuring that all benefits of Central Government’s policies reach to the state residents. All this is being done by the better coordination between the Central and the State Government. With the help of the Central Government, three important institutions as NIFT, Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET) and a Hospitality University are going to be established in the state soon, Along with, an I.T. Park is also being established in collaboration with the Central Government.
The present government is moving forward under the leadership of CM Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat. It should be expected that the Trivendra Singh Rawat’s government will establish a new era of development by maintaining people’s faith. The State Government will move the Uttarakhand towards the path of unprecedented development. The basic problems of the state will be resolved. Uttrakhand will be included among top developed states of India.
